Lexi Coon grew up swimming in the Mid-Atlantic region and helping coach summer league before competing through college. Before moving to Pennsylvania, she lived in Birmingham, AL, and for three years was a site coach and then head coach of Swim Birmingham YMCA. There, she she worked with nearly all age groups and all abilities through both USA Swimming and the YMCA. She coached swimmers at the Southeastern Swimming (SES) Championships, helped spearhead the SBY's summer league team, and was named an assistant coach to the 2022 Southeastern Swimming Age Group Zone Team.
Lexi’s favorite event is the 100 breaststroke or 200 IM and loves that swimming is an ever-evolving sport. She is looking forward to entering a new chapter in coaching and working with all of the swimmers at SVAC!
John Funk

John Funk is currently the Susquehanna University Swim Team Head Coach. He joined Susquehanna in 2025 and was previously the Assistant Coach at Bucknell from 2018-2025. Prior to Bucknell, John coached atom Texas Christian University, where he served as the men's team coordinator and NCAA compliance liaison. Many of his athletes posted NCAA 'B' times and met the Olympic Trials time standard.
John has a strong background in coaching youth swimming. Currently, he is the head coach for the Lewisburg Gators Youth Summer Swim Team. He had previously coached the Texas Christian University Youth USA Swim Club & the Princeton Pirates Swim Team.
John's best swimming events include the 200 IM, 200 Back,100 butterfly, 400 IM and was a member of the 800 freestyle relay team that set the school record at the 2012 ECAC Championships during his career at Rider University.
Rachael Tworek

Rachael Tworek grew up in Maryland and began swimming through a summer league team and later a local club team. She also went on to compete at the collegiate level at West Virginia Wesleyan. She became involved with coaching her summer league team for several years, working with all age groups.
Her favorite event was the 100 breaststroke but also focused on the 200 breaststroke and 200 IM.
Rachael currently works as a physical therapist and continues to be passionate about the sport of swimming and is excited to be part of the coaching team!
Kyle Verstandig

Kyle Verstandig is a former professional athlete and swim coach with broad experience across collegiate, professional, and club programs. A 2022 graduate of Denison University with a Bachelor of Arts in East Asian Studies and a concentration in Chinese, Kyle brings a strong background in competitive swimming to his coaching.
Kyle’s professional training took him to Mission Viejo Nadadores, where he competed internationally in the 2023 Swimming World Cup series. Alongside his own training, he coached with MVN, focusing on the technical and athletic development of 10-and-under swimmers. He previously trained with Coronado Swim/Team Elite (CSTE) and Olympic coach David Marsh, experiences that shaped both his approach as an athlete and his perspective as a coach.
Beyond his competitive career, Kyle has built a diverse coaching portfolio. He served as Head Senior Coach at Sunrise Swim Club, guiding senior athletes to breakthrough performances, and as a Volunteer Assistant Coach at Springfield College, where he supported both men’s and women’s programs at the NCAA Division III level. At Denison University, he was also a team captain, helping lead the program to multiple championship victories.
With a proven ability to connect with athletes and build resilient, high-performing teams, Kyle is passionate about fostering discipline, confidence, and long-term growth in the athletes he works with. He looks forward to contributing his experience and energy to the success of SVAC.
Bill Crumrine

Bill Crumrine grew up in the Pittsburgh area, swimming for Hopewell Area Aqua Club and West Allegheny Aqua Club in high school. In college, he attended Susquehanna University with a double major in Physics and French with a minor in Mathematics. He held the school record at Susquehanna University in the 500, 1000, and 1650 freestyle, and is still listed as 2nd in each of those on the top 10 leaderboards for the program. Bill's favorite events are the 200 and 500 freestyle.
Bill was an assistant coach for West Allegheny High School and Middle School. He loves Underwater Hockey and hopes to get others hooked on the sport as well! He can't wait to start this new chapter of his life, back in what he's most passionate about-swimming!
Gene Adrian

Gene Adrian, fondly known as Coach A, is a seasoned swim coach with an impressive background both in and out of the pool. A nationally ranked swimmer during his college years, Coach A specialized in the 100-yard backstroke and held individual records in the 200 Free, 100, and 200 backstroke at George Williams College. His exceptional performance earned him the prestigious title of National All-American Swimmer.
Gene's passion for swimming began early in life, and it only grew stronger over the years. After college, he dedicated over two decades to coaching boys and girls swimming at Thornwood High School, located just outside of Chicago, Illinois. Under his leadership, the team achieved remarkable success, including clinching the conference championship in 1989. That same year, Gene was honored by his peers as the District Coach of the Year.
Coach A's influence extended beyond the local level, as he guided numerous swimmers to state and national competitions. Among his many coaching accomplishments, he proudly coached a state finalist who placed 5th in the 500 Free and successfully took multiple swimmers to nationals, solidifying his reputation as a coach who knows how to cultivate talent and inspire excellence in his athletes.
With his grandson now making waves in the pool, Coach A is excited to bring his wealth of experience to SVAC. He is eager to help build technique and, most importantly, make swimming a fun and rewarding experience for all of the swimmers under his guidance.
Catherine Sirignano

Catherine Sirignano is a junior at Susquehanna University, where she is majoring in Early Childhood Education. She is a dual-sport athlete, competing on both the Susquehanna Swimming and Diving Team and the Track and Field Team. Catherine enjoys swimming the Individual Medley (IM) and Backstroke, and on the track, she competes in the hammer throw and discus events.
She has been a competitive swimmer for seventeen years, participating in summer league, YMCA, USA swimming, high school, and college competitions. In addition to swimming, Catherine has coached for seven years as both a head coach and assistant coach. She is excited to join the SVAC family and looks forward to helping her swimmers grow in the sport.
